Jamie is currently a graduate student at Lamar University working towards her certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. Jamie completed her undergraduate studies in 1998 at Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies.
Jamie brings a wealth of experience in supporting exceptional children, their families, caretakers, and educators for over 25 years. Her extensive experience in medical play therapy as a Child Life Specialist and current work as an educator for diverse students with disabilities affords her extensive background that she brings to Sagemont Counseling Center. Jamie has utilized her experiences to develop a counseling approach that is open-minded, inclusive, and understanding when working with individuals and their support systems. Her perspective on the impact of mental health extends beyond the individual, encompassing those around them and is influenced by both professional and personal experiences. Jamie has a deep commitment to helping children, parents, and siblings navigate the challenges they encounter in their relationships. Above all, Jamie has had the incredible opportunity to witness the power of God in seemingly insurmountable circumstances.
