Sagemont Church is to be a people who provide Living Proof of a Loving God to a Watching World.
In order to provide Living Proof of a Loving God to a Watching World, Sagemont members work to develop the six parts of the "Heart of Living Proof."

Learn:
Growing up in Christ by studying and practicing His Word. Colossians 2:6-7
Pray:
Communicating (talking and listening) with God. Ephesians 6:18
Serve:
Developing a servant's heart. II Corinthians 9:12
Give:
Making a present of your time, your talent, and your treasures. Luke 6:38

Love God
We believe we are most like God when we love like Him. Demonstrated by the unselfish giving of our time, talents, truth-telling, and treasures to God and people.
Luke 10:27 (The Message)- “That you love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence – and that you love your neighbor as well as you do yourself.”
2 Peter 1:5-7 (NKJV) “But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self control, to self control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.”
Each Individual Matters
Each Individual Matters to God. Therefore, we believe God has commanded us to value and love our neighbors. Demonstrated by a genuine sense of “family” inside the church and intentional relationships for the purpose of evangelism outside the church (on mission).
Luke 10:27 (The Message) “That you love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence – and that you love your neighbor as well as you do yourself.”
John 3:16 (The Message) “This is how much God loves the world: He gave His Son, His one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed by believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.”
Authority of Scripture
We believe God’s Word is the foundation of our faith – our pattern for life and living in this world. Demonstrated by a love for God’s Word, the intentional study of God’s Word, and the passionate practicing of God’s truth in our daily lives.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (The Message) “There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God breathed and useful one way or another – showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.”
Debt-free
We believe a debt-free church is a testimony of God's provision and allows us freedom to be used of God in creative ways, individually and corporately. Demonstrated by trusting God (through His people) to meet our needs and to show the world that He is able.
Romans 13:8 (The Message) “Don’t run up debts, except for the huge debt of love you owe each other.”
Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Excellence
We believe excellence honors God and influences people. Demonstrated by doing our best with what God has provided.
1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV) “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
Colossians 3:23 (NKJV) “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”
Relevance
We believe we are called to connect a changing world with the unchanging message of the Bible. Demonstrated by doing all we can in worship, teaching, and living to speak a language that people understand.
1 Corinthians 9:22b (The Message) “I kept my bearings in Christ – but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I’ve become just about every sort of servant there is in order to lead those I meet into a God-saved life.”
Spiritual Growth
We believe anything healthy will grow, and spiritual growth is a process. Demonstrated by intentionally offering avenues for learning, strategic service, accountability, connecting with other believers, and regular assessment of personal spiritual growth.
