Since 1988, Dr. Land has been President of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, which is the official entity assigned to address social, moral and ethical concerns with particular attention to their impact on American families and their faith. In 2005, Time magazine featured him as one of “the 25 most influential evangelicals in America.” In May 2004, the prestigious National Journal recognized him as one of the top ten church-state experts “politicians” will call on if they are going to address a public policy expert.
